My brain has been in overdrive lately, must have too much time on my hands. Gay marraige has been legal in all states since the earlier part of the last century. The United States Supreme Court ruled that marraige is a fundamental right in the pursuit of happiness in striking down the discriminatory laws that banned marriage between interracial couples. Thus if marraige is a fundamental right, it applies to all people, and not just a chosen few who hold power or happen to be in the majority. I am happily married to my loving wife and I feel that gay marraige would not be an attack on my marraige or anyone elses. Yes the Bible does say that being gay is wrong. It also allows polygamy. The Bible also states that you should not judge lest you be judged. The Bible also states to love your neighbor as yourself. The main problem with all these Bible qoutes is that Our Country was founded on the principle of seperation between church and state. This means we can not use the Bible, or the Koran or the Talmud or any other Holy Book to justify a law.
So many people who call themselves Christians seem to be unmitigated hypocrites. Where is the love that Jesus showed to all who asked? Where is the kindness that He exemplified? It seems to me that once again the moneychangers are in the Temple and need to be booted out. Jesus would be enraged to see just what is being done in his name. If you truly want to be a Christian accept all people and show them kindness and love just as He would. Leave the judgement of their life to God.
